Our Product: WDirect(tm) Information Node

The LastMile WDirect™ 1000 Information Node is a wall or post-mounted intelligent device that has local flash data storage, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and a wireless (GPRS) modem for monitoring and control. It can also provide enhanced connectivity to Wi-Fi-enabled devices. The WDirect™ 1000 Information Node enhances standard Wi-Fi access point functionality with the inclusion of a local cache. By processing and caching information at the edge of the network, the WDirect™ 1000 Information Node helps to:

  • Reduce the need for unnecessary network traffic

  • Reduce backhaul dependency, and

  • Improve speed of transactions with local authentication
